Game ArtSunstrike Studios produced the SOBR Squad realistic 3D character set in 2018 for the CharGen character generation and customization system by VEA Games. The piece ships as five hero renders and a single in-engine reel showing the modular gear system in motion under shooter-game lighting.
The squad was modeled to slot into a parts-based wardrobe pipeline where torso, legs, vest, helmet, and weapon swap independently. The set sits on the studio reel as a working sample for 3D character design studio work on tactical and military shooter titles.
The five renders cover full-body hero poses, gear close-ups, and a paired squad framing that validates the modular customization system. Each character carries a complete tactical kit: helmet, plate carrier, knee pads, sidearm holster, and primary weapon mount.
The single in-engine video confirms rig deformation, weapon attachment points, and material response under runtime lighting rather than offline render only.
Pipeline ran reference board with tactical gear photography, block-out, high-poly sculpt, retopology to a shooter-friendly tri budget, UV layout, bake, Substance PBR pass, and rig with weight skinning calibrated for the CharGen attachment points. Gear pieces were authored as independent meshes so the wardrobe system can mount any combination at runtime.
Material hierarchy was tuned so plate carrier nylon, helmet polymer, and weapon metal each carry their own specular signature. The pipeline plugs into broader studio 3D game art outsourcing deliverables for shooter titles needing matching prop and environment work.
