Solitaire Arcana 2D game backgrounds and scene art for HeroCraft

The five backgrounds cover the title's headline scene framings used across the solitaire progression. Each scene leads with mood lighting and atmospheric depth while keeping the central area open for the card grid and active UI, so the playfield stays readable across day, evening, and themed run variants.

Scene composition reserved hot spots for prop drops and reward callouts, which lets the HeroCraft team plug live-ops events into the same backgrounds without a scene rebuild. Backgrounds ship with sky, mid, and foreground groups separated for time-of-day variants.

Pipeline ran rough composition, color key, paint over, and detail finishing under HeroCraft review at each gate. We worked from the existing Solitaire Arcana style bible for proportion and palette so the gallery of unlocks reads as one coherent run rather than five disconnected scenes.

Native Photoshop layering keeps each asset live: producers can re-light the same scene for holiday events or seasonal redress without ordering new art. Working as a focused 2D game artist for hire partner, we held a backlog of reusable atmospheric overlays for fast event refresh on the same scene.

Stylized painterly approach with mystical color palette: deep cool atmospheric depth balanced with warm hero accents on key arcana elements. Card-stack contrast was tuned at the background paint stage so playfield readability holds across all five scenes without UI dimming.

Color rules stayed inside the Solitaire Arcana brand saturation range so unlocks always look like one franchise. Lighting fall-off keeps the card grid contrast crisp against scene art across day, evening, and event-time variants.
